I watched a few minutes

Wednesday, January 16th, 2002

I watched a few minutes of The Chamber on Sunday evening. The bastards at Fox had snuck it into The Simpons‘ time slot for a one-time preview. So naturally, I was stuck watching it.

The cross between Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Running Man was actually interesting to watch.

Exactly once.

I can’t imagine tuning in every week to watch yet another person get spun, shocked and shaken while answering $100 Celebrity Jeopardy! questions.

At least on Fear Factor the challenges are different every week. Not that it makes for good television or anything.

And now I find that ABC has its own version of the show, called The Chair, with John McEnroe (!) as host. And they’re actually suing Fox for ripping off the idea.

Why does the image of two vultures fighting over a tiny scrap of rotting flesh come to mind?

The Anonymous Cow sent me

The Anonymous Cow sent me a dinner for eight from Ninja Burger today.

Silly Cow. But you’ve made some CBCers very happy. Even if they were a little spooked by the delivery guys.

Everyone’s buzzing about the new

Everyone’s buzzing about the new iMac.

All I see is a goofy-looking computer with a really small screen whose low-end model – low-end, mind you – is over $2,000.

If you want the much-touted DVD burner, you’re looking at shelling out three grand. Ouch.

Johnny: “Well, 2001 is over and I still don’t have my rocket car.”

Penguin: “On the bright side, at least you’re not wearing a unisex leotard.”
