I attempted a difficult manoeuvre

I attempted a difficult manoeuvre this morning, perhaps the most difficult in all of public transit: the Streetcar Dismount and Delayed Re-embark.

In this rarely seen skill, a commuter gets off the streetcar one stop before his intended target (and my case, the video store) and then attempts to get back on the same streetcar at the next stop.

It’s dangerous, yes, but if I had pulled it off, I could have shaved six to ten minutes off my commute time. And it was raining.

Sadly, though, it wasn’t to be. The back doors of the streetcar closed just as I reached them.

I’m hopeful, though, that I’ll do well in the Escalator Sprint and the Clueless Commuter Steeplechase later today.
