That comic book story was a cheap attempt to gain from the success of the movie. I would hope the CBC is above that, but apparently not, and you are their tool of manipulation!

Darth Surly, you ignorant slut.
I wrote that story because both As It Happens and the Associated Press had done it, so I felt that I should.
Besides, I had been writing about anthrax all day and I wanted to do something fun.
And what exactly did the CBC gain by me writing this article? Ad revenue? No. Audience mindspace? Probably. I make no apology for that.
Oh, and it was the weekend editor changed the headline to include Spider-Man and put it in the top three of CBC.ca.
I originally had it as “Professor uses superpowers to teach physics,” which I thought was more clever.
