Yup, another bout of blogathy (or is it blogstipation?)

Either way it’s been almost two weeks and a lot’s happened.

I’m frustrated that the CBC News headlines on the right-hand side don’t seem to be working. The stories there are four days old.

The change in format for the site is causing problems for syndication and delivery to non-PC platforms, such as Palms.

As far as the writing goes, I’m never at a loss for stuff to write about (except, obviously, right now). I’ve learned to be a bit skeptical of what I’m seeing on the wires. If those stories were true, the U.S. and British forces (not “coalition”) would have had control of Umm Qasr days ago.

And as you can see it’s not so.

May 9, 1999: Stephen Hawking

Tuesday, March 11th, 2003

May 9, 1999:

Stephen Hawking appears on The Simpons and delivers the line, “Your theory of a donut-shaped universe is
intriguing, Homer. I may have to steal it.”

March 11, 2003:

The New York Times — Universe as Doughnut: New Data, New Debate

Well, I think somebody stole the idea from Homer.

(I stole this idea from Metafilter.)

So I gets into work

Thursday, March 6th, 2003

So I gets into work and what’s do I find?

Crowd protests arrest of man for peace T-shirt and
Customs accused of seizing tapes critical of U.S.

Oh, man… These are almost as ridiculous and those Americans changing their French fries to “freedom fries.”

I think next they should change Baton Rouge, Louisiana to… Red Stick… Bushrulesiana.

Yeah.
