Hacking the wall

Monday, May 8th, 2006

Here’s an excellent article on hacking net censorship from The Star.

Some geeks at U of T have developed software to work around net filters governments have installed to censor the web.

The writer saves the best for last, of course:

“We’re making the Internet run the way it’s supposed to,” says [Nart] Villeneuve with his trademark little-boy smile. “Because people have broken it.”

Nart? What kind of name is Nart?

I haven’t written about my last two tech columns for the CBC yet.

Oh, wait. Now I have.

Toxic tech and Calendars, online and on paper.

Profile of yours truly on The Daily Planet

Friday, May 5th, 2006

A mild-mannered media studies student at Humber College has written a profile of me for their online publication, The Daily Planet. Check out my big, giant head.

Many of the people profiled on the site are Humber grads, but I’ve done a couple of lectures on blogging at the college, so that’s how they got my number.

I also did an interview for an article on blogging and the news for a magazine the students are putting together, but I haven’t seen that one yet.
